Lesson 4 - Introduction to Digital Animation

In this lesson we will discuss the transition from traditional to digital animation.

First, we will focus on new concepts that will be indispensable in your After Effects workflow:

  • Compositions (or comps)
  • Layers
  • Animation Properties: Position, Scale, Rotation, and Opacity
  • Keyframes
  • Rendering

Second, we will discuss the digital animation process, and you will learn how to apply the concepts of digital animation using After Effects.

  • Asset Creation
  • Importing Assets in After Effects
  • Composition Settings
  • Animation in After Effects
  • Exporting your Animation

At the end of this lesson you will create your own ‘living text’ animation, expressing ideas and emotions through animated text.
